I recall an episode of 80 days around the world where Michael Palin, exasperated by the fact there's not a plug in his bathtub, goes out shopping i soviet Russia for one.

Winter cold shower in morning and warmish shower in evening
Summer cold shower in both
Warm bath once or twice a month if i can be arsed

Our big Christmas present one year was my dad installing a whirlpool tub that he got a good deal on. Like everything in our house it took about a year to get the fixtures etc. finished.
Tried it and I was doing 4 or 5 sports at the time...
Still not for me.

Last time I had a bath was in a hotel in Vegas a few years ago. It was great. Like a small swimming pool. Took about 20 minutes to run it.

Weirdly, I've never had gas in any house I've lived in.
As I say, the cold five minute blast thing is hard to explain. Lots of crap written about it online, naturally. Brilliant before work, and after gym.

A Scottish shower every morning and every night. Once you start adding five mins on full power full cold at the end of your shower, you'll never go back. Sounds awful, and IS awful to begin with, but makes you feel fantastic afterwards and just becomes a necessary thing that is more doable over time. Pretty dificult to convince yourself at the start, especially on cold mornings when you're still feeling all warm from bed, but life-changing, in a ver small way. Hard to explain.
